One of my most recent Whale Family series.
Private Collection
An excerpt from the very touching email I received from the owners of the painting.
“…just want to let you know that the painting really means a lot to Amanda and me. it symbolizes a time that we shared. For the first time in a year, I was feeling strong enough and healthy enough to come in to the city to be with Amanda. she lives during the weeks in nyc and i live in nj. we see each other only on the weekends. after 5 years of a marriage that has revolved pretty much entirely around cancer, it felt really good to live in nyc with her and feel like a normal couple. when i got to nyc, the first thing Amanda said was, “c’mon, i have to show you this painting.” she took me to joe’s and explained that every morning she would go and look at your painting and it would cheer her up and make her feel less alone and less sad.
we both seem to get a great deal of joy and comfort looking at it. i know that might sound cheesy but i thought you might like to know.
i am happy that your painting will find a great resting spot in our home.”

I won second place in They Draw and Cook recipe contest! Hosted by The California Fig Commission. I am so honored.
BIG NEWS! They Draw and Cook is going from blog to book! We are putting the finishing touches on a plan to team up with Weldon Owen Publishing on the publication of They Draw & Cook. The book will contain 100 full-color, full-size recipes with credit given to each artist. (Me!) The book to be available by Spring/Summer of 2011.
“….Charrow, who will be running Robot, Monster & Ghost: New York starting October 31. Our New York office will be specializing in illustration and identity design to start with. God knows what madness it’ll end up with in 2-3 months time. I can’t promise you people anything solid, but I can say with 100% certainty we’ll be flying dragons and burning villages (we’ll spare the wenches, we’re not all bad) by the end of 2011.”

Working a couple of big freelance projects. A little logo work and some full color illustrations of interiors. I am super excited to share the projects when they are done and introduce the you to the companies. Some of the work will be used in formats I have never seen my work in before and I think that will be amazing; I will have pictures.
